City & Hackney Centre for Mental Health is a mental health hospital based at Homerton Hospital that provides assessment and treatment for male and female individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the inpatient wards for an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker, Band 3, to join our busy and motivated team We aim is to deliver a patient-focused care that provides patients with an opportunity to better understand the crisis or behaviour that resulted in their admission and to learn coping skills to reduce the risk of relapse. Supporting the in-patient wards during psychiatric emergencies. Promoting a safe environment of care that safeguards and protects patients and staff against undue risk. Facilitating a positive role for patients where open communication and opportunities for learning and decision-making are promoted Maintaining the patients right to spend no more time than clinically necessary in a locked environment. Provide support and clinical assistance to the other hospitals within the trust. Provide support and liaise with the community mental health teams and other allied professionals To actively participate in the assessment and care plan process, caring for both mental health and physical health needs and ensuring care is individualised and truly meets the needs of the service user. Working with registered nurses and other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure defined care is implemented, that patients are actively involved in all aspects of their care and fully understand their care.
